26/11- Unforgetable Past

Today India is paying homage to the martyrs of 26/11 attack on Mumbai. It was one of the most long  lasting operations launched by security forces to take control over the city.

Six Years ago on 26th November 2008 group of 10 militants attacks Mumbai make hostage the city for 4 days. At least 164 victims were killed including 28 citizens from 10 foreign countries. More than 600 persons were injured
All 10 militants were from Pakistan. They got training from Lashkar-e-Taieba along with the help of ISI. They were divided into 5 groups each having 2 members. They had attacks important palces like Hotel Taj Mahal Palaces and Tower, Oberoi Tridents,Leopad Cafe, Nariman House. They were highly trained by the pakistani intelligence ISI and Lashker-e-Taiba to how to stay alive during operations. The Inquiry committe stated that it was "war like " situations and was beyond the capacity of police force.

One can imagine their training that India had to call their best commandos NSG and MARCOS for rescue operation. before inclusion of commandos mumbai police tried their best to rescue the hostages and to secure the city.During operations they lost their officers like ACP Ashok Kamte, Inspector Vijay Salskar,ATS chief Hemant Karkare,ASI Tukaram Omble, were martyred .
During NSG operations in Hotel TAJ 2 NSG commandos were also martyred. They were Maj. Sandip Unikrishann and Hav. Gajendra Singh.
Only one militant Ajmal Kasab can be captured alive by the security force .This led the pakistani authority on the back foot.
On 21st november 2012 he was also hanged in yarwada jail. This brings the 26/11 chapter close here. This gives affected families a great relief.

Lets pray that God give strength to the family of the affected people.

We will always arise  no matter whatever the conditions will be.
