On 16th Dec, when militants attacks Peshawar school and killed more than 140 people, at that time the whole media was beating their chest on the name of secularism and coward attacks. But the same media is silent on the attack and killing of more than 70 people in Assam. There is merely news on the channel and also on the social networking.
At the time of Peshawar attack these media were showing repeatedly news, arranges discussion and so on. But this time there is hardly any discussions.
No candle march this time.
Are They not our people?
Are They not innocents?
I don't know why our own countrymen behaves with north-eastern state as stranger. The north-eastern states are integral parts of India and people from there have also same rights and freedom.
But unfortunately they are treated as strangers both by media and the central government also.
If the same accident would happened in J&K then media and govt. would had paid much more attention. But in the case of Assam the central govt. has announced compensation of Rs. 2,00,000 and finished their work.
At the time of Peshawar attack central govt. has announced all possible help but when attacks happened in Assam there is no such initiatives. The govt. has appointed a minister for the north-east but unfortunately there is also no initiatives taken by him.
I can't understand the logic follow by the media and govt. At the time of election each and every party show their support towards the north-east state and blames other parties. But as soon as elections ended they come to their old path and follow the same procedure for the next elections.
Few questions has came in mind:
1.) Is Peshawar is more attached to India than our home state Assam(question from Indian media)
2.) Why govt. is showing only formality?
3.) Why these militants are asking for separate homeland?
As far as media and govt. will behave as stranger with the north-east states these kind of incidents will be happened.
The only way to reduce these types of accident/attacks by developing these areas, providing job chances etc. When we will treat them as the mainstream citizen these groups will lost their support.
Lets pray for the fallen soul and support for their family.
